Which drinks are best enjoyed in Moser glassware? Try exclusive cocktails!

Ingredients of the highest quality and a precise method of preparation. That is the essence of a top-quality cocktail. But if a drink is to offer a truly powerful experience, it must taste not only good but also look amazing.

The bartenders of the Karlsbad based Becher's Bar have prepared special drinks for you, which they have specially tailored to suit four selected glasses by Moser. You can either prepare these at home yourself or enjoy them at the Grandhotel Pupp.

"The glass is an important visual aspect of every cocktail. Besides the content inside, the stability and the type of roundness of the glass are also determining factors," opens Jan Šebek, bartender at the Becher's Bar, which is part of the renowned Grandhotel Pupp in Karlsbad. The cocktail menu, which Jan has prepared together with head bartender Vítězslav Cirok, can be divided in two parts. For the first one, the inspiration comes from colours and emotions, while the second one features world-famous cocktails with a twist. "Quality drinks appeal to all senses, including sight and smell. But most of all, they arouse our desire to taste them," says Jan.

The Violet

The first recipe requires a list of ingredients, but the final taste is all the more rewarding. The preparation of The Violet consists of Amave Absinthe, Roku Gin and verjuice – fresh grape juice, as well as homemade blackcurrant liqueur and chamomile and butterfly pea tea. All the ingredients are combined together in a mixing glass and then poured into a chilled Moser glass. "A light fish with asparagus, for example, is the perfect side to this drink thanks to the distinct notes of aniseed and wormwood from the absinthe," bartender Jan Šebek shares his recommendation.

5 ml Amave Absinthe
25 ml Roku Gin
15 ml homemade blackcurrant liqueur
30 ml chamomile and butterfly pea tea
5 ml verjuice

The Red

The Red is a vibrant cocktail, whose preparation follows the same steps its violet alternative does. This recipe features jasmine gin, hibiscus lemonade, and sugar syrup, as well as strawberry and redcurrant purée. The cocktail is served over ice as a refreshing long drink in a Moser tall glass. The recipe is courtesy of the Becher's Bar head bartender Vítězslav Cirok.

40 ml jasmine gin
80 ml strawberry and redcurrant purée
7 ml sugar syrup
130 ml hibiscus lemonade

The Green

No bar menu would be complete without a non-alcoholic alternative. "We were inspired by freshness and health. We wanted to create an unusual non-alcoholic cocktail which could match alcoholic ones in quality," Jan Šebek reveals the origins of The Green drink. It is served exclusively in a short tumbler glass by Moser, which bears a resemblance to a whisky glass thanks to its shape. But in this case, you will recognise the taste of celery cordial, fresh green apple juice and water kefir, also known as tibi lemonade. All ingredients are poured directly into the glass before being carefully stirred by the bartender.

30 ml celery cordial
45 ml fresh green apple juice
150 ml water kefir

Royal Cosmopolitan

The quartet is rounded off by Royal Cosmopolitan, a variation on a drink made famous by pop diva Madonna, for example. Its many variations are popular in cities all around the world, with Karlsbad joining the club now. The shaker is filled with Absolut Elyx vodka, pink cordial and cranberry juice. Following the shaking, the bartender pours the ingredients into a Moser stemmed glass and finally tops it up with Perrier-Jouët champagne.

25 ml Absolut Elyx
40 ml Cranberry juice
10 ml Pink Cordial
40 ml Perrier-Jouët

All that's left to say is: Cheers! To Czech bartending and glassmaking.

Why pay a visit the Becher's Bar in Grandhotel Pupp?

An English club style bar, which reflects the glory of the Karlsbad region's history. That is the Becher's Bar, located right in the legendary Grandhotel Pupp. The cocktail menu is handled by head bartender Vítězslav Cirok, the recent winner of the Czech final of the most prestigious bartending competition in the world, Diageo Reserve World, for which Jan Plecháč, the art director of the Moser glassworks, designed the main prize. Vladimír Cirok, together with his colleague, bartender Jan Šebek, has also created the drinks listed above, which are specially tailored to suit Moser glassware. Of course, you can enjoy these at the Becher's Bar, too. And what's more, you may even momentarily transform yourself into Agent 007, as the menu includes the iconic Vesper drink, which Daniel Craig as James Bond was sipping on in the Casino Royale movie right here in Karlsbad.
