In the Danae collection, alexandrite and aquamarine are underlaid with white opal, which together create a poetic ice drift effect. Lights and shadows play in the crystal ice shards, making the vase change every time you look at it.

    Expertly crafted design

This collection of vases and bowls, with their hand-cut motif ice drifts, derive from a very personal relationship with Czech crystal. It was designed by one of the most experienced Moser glasscutters, František Moudrý. Years of close contact with these unique materials gave him a vision of chillingly beautiful vases and bowls, with sophisticated colouring that emphasises the ice-shard cut.

    • Hand-blown from environmentally friendly lead-free crystal
    • Hand cut and polished to a high gloss
    • Made using the glass underlay technique

  • Designer

    Frantisek Moudry

For František Moudrý, working with cut Czech crystal became a lifelong passion. This graduate from the People’s Art School in Ostrov first became a glassmaker for Moser and, over time, became one of the foremost Czech glass cutters. He’s been doing his job since 1975, and you can see the decades of craftsmanship experience and love for this noble material in his work.
