Modern design with Splendid DNA

6 champagne glasses serving as a variation to Moser’s most luxurious drinkware set. The Splendid Collection from 1911 became the glass of royal families and diplomats. The Illusion Set draws from its DNA, bringing it into the new millennium. While the first glass remains true to the original, the rest play with a type of cut used in the earlier design. Thus, a diverse set of breathtaking optical effects and illusions is born. Now all that’s left to do is raise a toast of well-chilled sparkling wine.

The author Petr Larva describes the Illusion set: 'In the new millennium we tried to draw attention to the Splendid collection (1911) by creating a modern composition with an emphasis on optical effects. Our efforts are built on the DNA of Splendid. Based on the essence of its optics, we have refined all the cut types and given each type new space to stand alone as a solo decoration that spans the entire surface of each glass."

How the glass of kings came to be

Creating the crystal Illusion glasses demands maximum focus and an eye for detail. Our glassmakers first shape the molten glass by hand and blow it into a mould. Using special tools, they then make the stem and crown. Once it’s cooled, precise cuts and preparations for the 24-karat gold oroplastic are made. After it’s fired, it must be polished with agate and haematite to fully highlight its radiance.

    • Hand-blown from environmentally friendly lead-free crystal
    • Hand-cut and polished to a high gloss
    • Hand-decorated with 24K gold or platinum
