ERA emerged at the dubbing celebration for glassmaking master Zdeněk Drobný as Knight of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. “When I first learned I was going to be made a Knight, the joy of receiving such recognition brought me back to the glassworks where I blew a new vase at the furnace. It was an immense honour for me,” says Zdeněk Drobný, who spent half a century of his life at Moser. Jan Plecháč, Art Director at the glassworks, drew the design for the ERA vase, and the piece was then cut by the best cutters. Together these masters created a masterpiece of crystal, into which they injected a story about connecting generations and loyalty to a brand that honours its roots and is proud of its history while also looking to the future.
ERA is an exclusive limited edition of 77 total pieces. Each is numbered and signed on the bottom by its creators: glassmaking master and Knight Zdeněk Drobný and Grand Designer of the Year 2023 Jan Plecháč.

Glassmaking master Zdeněk Drobný blew Moser’s most demanding and historic collections but also always found joy in helping create new things. “I like big challenges,” he says, smiling. And he found exactly that in the ERA vase. “I wanted to make good use of Zdeněk’s admirable prowess and how well he understands the glass,” says Jan Plecháč. Both blowing and cutting ERA required true mastery and maximum focus since even the smallest mistake could irretrievably damage the vase.
ERA was inspired by the fascinating shapes of quartz crystal. Glass wouldn’t exist without it, it’s its very essence. The vase is made in both clear and coloured options. At Moser, the tri-coloured core, which is a unique feature of one of the variants, is a complete extraordinaire, thanks to which the colours blend together and create iridescent valeurs. Each ERA is unique.
