The most limiting factor in the design of the Pear collection is the physically demanding production. When making a vase, the glassmaker must hold 25 kg of material on the blowpipe, which the cutter then works down to a final weight of 15 kg. Only a true master of the craft can manage this feat. However, the hard work and focus are worth it – the result is a gigantic gem with precisely cut edges and surfaces, refracting light into a fascinating array of colours.

The magic of an inclined plane
With the artifacts from the Hruška collection, a design enters the interior, which rightly draws attention to itself. The vase, which stood at the beginning of this series of decorations, won the prestigious Czech Grand Design Award 2012. Experts and lovers of cut glass were thrilled by the idea of an inclined object, which, however, stands firmly on a robust base. The strong crystal in its sternly cut edges seemed to hold the light in its palms and appropriate it. The Hruška vase is rightly one of the most successful solitaires of the current line Moser.
