The lines cut into the glass to reveal the crystal shine in the white enamel. This impressive effect is created using the “spule cut” technique, which develops the classical rose motif in a modern way on the surface of the bowl.

Gleaming, coloured crystal contrasting with white enamel

In the Rouge collection, Lukáš Jabůrek returns to the timeless theme of roses. His vases and bowls, however, take an utterly modern approach to the classical floral motif. The simplified shape lets the colourful, gleaming crystal stand out and contrast with opaque enamel lines. The overall look is topped by the irregular cut of the upper part of the pieces.

    Lukáš Jabůrek

Lukáš Jabůrek, Glass artist, designer, glass cutter, and the art director of the Moser glassworks from 2013 – 2018. Graduate of the Glassmaking vocational college and the High school of Applied Arts in Nový Bor. Winner of the Public Award from Czech Grand Design in 2012, for the design of the Pear and Kolorit vases. His work is unique, with its characteristically unorthodox combination of coloured glass and very specific cuts. His artwork for Moser is counted among the most sought-after of the past decade.
